Zumba is the world’s biggest branded fitness programme. It was founded in 2001 in Miami by 3 guys called 'Alberto' (Perez, Perlman and Aghion) and currently has 14 million weekly participants in more than 150 countries. Zumba is a latin-inspired dance fitness class, combining aerobics and dance steps. It is performed to all flavours of international music from Salsa and Merenge to Reggaeton and Flamenco. It is uniquely un-intimidating; it doesn’t matter if you can dance or not, nobody is judging you. The fun and friendly atmosphere created in a Zumba class makes it feel more like a party than a workout. You will burn calories and get fit whilst having a blast...Zumba is exercise in disguise!
THE BENEFITS OF ZUMBA
Zumba is an effective interval-style, total body workout with built in variety because every class and every instructor is slightly different. The class varies between high intensity and low intensity and because of that, you will burn a lot of extra calories compared to a steady-state exercise like jogging. It does not matter what fitness level you are at because research has shown that with Zumba everyone is working out at a zone that is recommended for improving cardio health. Both a fit person or a low-fitness person will benefit from a Zumba workout.
